Seodang | Seodang were the most widespread educational institution during late Joseon as this small, private school did not require government license. In seodang, local scholars were invited as the headmaster to teach the local children, or the headmaster would open the school by himself to teach his pupils. Also, sometimes, several relatives used to open a school, or a rich family would invite a renowned scholar to exclusively educate their children. | ||
