Critical Patient Criteria
Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center is supposed to treat patients with critical symptoms and equivalent symptoms that are decided by the following laws as a local emergency medical center. Patients with critical symptoms that are not included in the ones decided by Article 2 of Emergency Medical Service Act can't be covered by insurance, and they have to pay the whole medical fees for emergency care.

Critical patient transfer process
In case a critical patient is transferred to another facility, in accordance with Article 4(1) of Enforcement Regulation of Emergency Medical Service Act, the transferring hospital ‘must confirm whether the transferred medical facility can accept the patient through Emergency Medical Information Center and must provide or recommend proper means of transportation’. Therefore, to check whether the transferred medical facility can accept the patient, the following procedures must be followed.
